- Who is Catherine Grasso?
- Catherine Grasso is Calvert County's District 3 County Commissioner. She has lived in Calvert County for 51 years; she and her husband, Frank, raised their three children in Dunkirk. Before elected office she spent her career in federal service with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she formulated and executed an agency budget and administered three nationwide programs. She took office in December 2022 and is running for re-election.

- What does a County Commissioner do?
- Calvert County is governed by a five-member Board of County Commissioners. The Board adopts the county budget, sets land-use and growth policy, and oversees county services such as public safety, roads and parks. Three commissioners represent residency districts and two serve at large.

- Where is District 3, and who gets to vote in this race?
- District 3 covers the northern part of Calvert County, including Dunkirk, where Catherine lives. A District 3 commissioner must live in the district — but every registered voter in Calvert County votes in all five commissioner races, so voters countywide can vote for Catherine.

- When is the election?
- The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Early voting runs October 22–29, 2026. Maryland's voter-registration deadline is three weeks before Election Day (October 13, 2026), and same-day registration is available at early-voting centers and polling places. Mail-in ballots can be requested from the Maryland State Board of Elections at elections.maryland.gov.

- Where does Catherine stand on data centers?
- No data centers in Calvert County. Catherine took a firm position early: she supported and seconded the two-year moratorium proposed by Commissioner Mike Hart, kept supporting a pause after the proposal initially failed 3–2, and months later the full Board adopted a countywide moratorium.

- Are contributions tax-deductible? Is there a limit?
- Contributions to a political campaign are not tax-deductible. Under Maryland law an individual may give up to $6,000 to a single candidate, and $24,000 to all candidates combined, during the four-year election cycle (2023–2026). Cash contributions are limited to $100.
